ok so iv got a 2001 cavalier 4dr 2.2 non ecotec, the car died on me while i was driving, i thought i was out of fuel as i was low, i put fuel in and it wont start, so i figured mabe a plugged filter, pull the filter and its almost restriction free, i have spark, and i can hear the pump turning on, so i left the filter off and turned the key to see if id get fuel coming out of the line and i get nothing, do you think its the pump?

how much gas did you put in?? This EXACT same thing happened to me. I had to put like 4 gallons of fuel in, and a small amount in the throttle body to finally get it to start and run. Its fine now.

Sounds like the hose from the pump to the top of the pump module has a hole in it. I've seen the older ones with the short rubber hose split but I think that one has the flexy straw looking hose. Kind of strange that I runs but doesnt pump.
