I finally graduated from wyotech (thats not the bad news) but I moved back to Va and went to get the cavalier inspected and the place picked it apart and failed it.

The lights in my mirrors (even tho there not even hooked up)
The lights on the dash for parking brake, ABS and airbag dont come on when you start the car
This sucks bad because theres no getting around the lights on the dash. The 3400 PCM wont run them.
Any ideas? I cant find anyone that will do a lick and stick for $50. I hate inspections.

switch the console to a grand am one so it does run what it needs to. put a cat on their their cheap enough now a days. and put the stock mirrors on.
and the biggest one don't go to jiffylube for an inspection. find a real garage with people that realixe this car is from out of state and the motor is diffrent and lights where disabled.
as for the dash lights, cant you jerry rig timed leds behind the faceplate? just have them in a current loop with a timer for however long they are supposed to be on, with the starter switch rigged to the ignition.

I would just be a total dick about it. Sit in the car, and figure out which wires go to those particular lights. Then hook them all up on a time delay relay. It'll look legit.

Parking brake is a separate wire (switched ground), ABS and air bags are integrated in the circuit board and run off the UART wire, but still should come on for the bulb test.

Yeah this really sucks. i live in northern va and was so looking foward to doing this swap. now i learn it wont pass inspection here!
