I've always liked the cavy rear end much better than the Sunfires and I have a 1997 Sunfire (SE body)
I was thinking about just slapping a Cavy trunk and rear bumper on there but I'm wondering if the tailights in the fenders would line up with the ones in the trunk at all, or at least enough to look right..
Has anyone tried this or have pics... I would love to do this but it's not worth replacing the fender skin or fiberglassing.
the sunfire tails would be at the same height (or close) as the cavy inner tails on the trunk lid, if thats what youre asking. but to do this swap (since you have a coupe) you would need to weld in new quarter panels from a cavalier as the sunfire ones have very different curves to them.
take another look at a sunfire rear and a cavalier rear and youll see the differences.

I'm just not a big fan of how the car looks from the back...... it would be nice if someone made a CF replacment for the inner plastic like they do for the newer sunfires or something.... there just isn't a whole lot of love out there for the early model 3rd gen Sunfire..
cant you update your trunk and get that carbon fiber filler i thought i seen that discussed some where.
i thought i seen somewhere that i THINK cf-tec was making a one peice sunfire trunk which is oem truck without the spoiler and the filler plate was built into the trunk as one peice, not 100% on this though. i think there may have been a GP on the jco on them

I'm not a big fan of a Sunfire trunk without the stock spoiler...
Who knows.... maybee it would look better with some sort of decklid..... maybee an aftermarket one for a cavy or something..
i do know that the 4dr sunfires can interchange with a 2 or 4dr cavalier trunk and tails but 2dr sunfires are way different i have a 4dr 95 sunfire with an 02 cavi front clip and a 97 cavi trunk shaved emblems and its nice im thinkin bout leaving the sunfire on the door just to say it is a sunfire and not a cavalier
