Nice vids. Nice numbers. I hope that if I take a spin on the dyno that I could pull about the same.
Looks like the power drops off pretty good after 5500 though. Question about yours though that cameras don't seem to pick up but ears do. Does yours start to sound like it's getting valve float or something after about 5500? Mine does and I'm not sure what causes it. I can only assume it's weak valve springs. I've tried to tune mine out but it won't go away, and it's done it on both the 3.1 ECM and the Megasquirt.
awesome, cant wait to see this running around campus, hope to hear some kill stories with all the ricers here.
03 Sunfire - Sold.
You know someone else told me about the valve float issue. Apparently the LS6 springs take care of that.
COMING SOON! VERY NICE!
I was just curious if yours did it or not, cuz I know mine does. I've got a set of 3500 heads that I hope take care of the problem too. Apparently the 3500 springs are nice and stiff too.
Now get some dyno runs using the spray...
Was there any tuning done? Reason I ask is the big difference between run 1 and run 2.
FU Tuning
^^Mine did the same thing, but in reverse (171 for run 1, low 160 for run 2).
No there was no tuning lol it was weird the numbers kept getting better. I was joking with my teacher about "so what your saying is that by about my 20th run I should be up over 300whp haha j/k.
COMING SOON! VERY NICE!
Anyone who is worried about valve float you have a couple options. I replaced my stock valve springs with LS6 valve springs off a corvette. Need the shims and the seals off of an older cavy with a 3.1 or you could do as jason and just go with 3500 heads. But thats a whole other story. No valve float at all on mine, just the injectors max out past 6000 or so Im upgrading to injectors off a GTP just because and since I will be using a power adder soon it is just safe.

I'm curious about something here on that. I know you're running OBD-II. I'm assuming that everything is hooked up and your ABS works and all that good stuff. I know you have HPT.
Is there such a thing as "abuse mode" in there anywhere? And if so, is it disabled?
Reason I ask is that I remember seeing something long ago when they had the new GTO come out. Something about they were trying to dyno the car, and even with the traction control turned off every time they made a dyno run they'd get less and less power. Turns out that the abuse mode in the PCM saw that the back tires were spinning and the front tires were not. And automatically assumed that they were doing burnouts with it. So each time they'd run the PCM would pull timing and such to reduce power. That just now ran across my head as to maybe why you saw such a huge power reduction between runs.
