Does anyone know if the older 3 gen trannys, like 96, 97, will work in the newer ones like 01, 02? I need a tranny as mine is missing 2nd and i need to know if all trannys will work.
auto? stick? 3 speed auto? 4spd auto?

^ Clutch maybe, but the flywheel is the same unlike on the 2.4 (i never quite grasped why it changed on the 2.4 anyways)
Best bet is to hop the junk yards and find one for a 2000 or newer car with the 2200. Unless you want to change all the other stuff and weld in a new tranny mount.
