i was told that the 99 block from a cavy or sunfire will work on a 96 sunfire trans is that true or what
the bell housings of the 2.2 and 2200's are the same but as far as the blocks go, ?? there may be some differences.

They will work. Most of the differences in the engines where in the head.
The 2.2/2200, the 60degree v6, the 90 degree v6 and even the Northstar use the same bolt pattern. So yes, it will work.
