Yay first reply in the progress thread!
I have to admit i kinda have been feeling upset because the 2.2 engine has come such a long way over the years. I feel like im letting the car down or something as gay as that sounds lol. But oh well ill have another cavy soon to put that motor back into it!!!!!!

porting the heads and getting them decked for a little higher compression.
If you want some higher compression, don't get the heads decked. Instead use pistons from the iron head 3.4L (Camaro/Firebird) and put them in.
Then you'll get something like 12:1.
Just a suggestion, if you've got the time, a little extra money, and facilities (which looks obvious) to do the work.
sexy! have fun and keep us all updated. got an ETA for completion?
coming back in 2008...
Well considering i have 9 hours a day for 3 months to work on this project it should be done soon im guessing like a month if that... Im porting the heads this week which takes a while and i might have to order new exhaust valves becuase there pretty pitted up... But the motor should be back together by the end of next week and should be actually in the car the next if not next week sometime.

That is a very nice looking 2.2 you have there. What header do you have on it? Looks very clean. Good luck with the 3400 swap!!
IIRC it's 330 for a cam Stage I through IV. Boost or N/A cams. But then you need the custom length pushrods... which are 135.
Go ahead and do LS6 valve springs too since you have them off. You wont regret it.
Not the best choice on upper engine mount.
You need 2 mount points on the transmission in order to run A/C , and a stiff lower dogbone also. And after all that the engine will still hit the a/c dryer with the car in reverse. Been there.
Look in the v6 progress thread, there are several pages about this mount.

Im not too worried about it. I have the "solid" dogbone anyway. And now since you said that ill just fab up the mounts for the rad support. B1tch isnt going anwhere. I have Trans Urethane mounts anway too.

Ported one head today. Brought the other head back home for the weekend so i can finish that one.

Yeah, but if he's running the manual transmission then he'll have 2 mounts on the tranny.
Oh didnt know that. then that mount may work fine for him.

I would suggest the poly bushings for the trans mounts. Not expensive, and a good time to put them in since the tranny is out of the car.
Control arm bushings too. Unless you like tons of wheel hop that is.
Already have them. Been on there for about a year.

Ya, I just looked at your registry and noticed you had the trans bushings, but what about the control arms, I dont remember seeing them there.
Ya I need to get those. Do they help alot?
