im lookin for an 03-05 cavalier with a manual transmission, i need basically the transmission and ecu, gauges, pedals, and everything to complete a transmission swap, also if the motor is there i wouldnt mind taking that too to bore it out and getting bigger pistons, thanks
I have an ecotec sunfire gauge cluster if you're interested.
hmm, is it for a manual car?
because i heard i needed to change the gauge cluster when i swap the transmission
dont quote me on it, but i thought all of the 03+ Js used the same cluster.....like they all had a tach.
NO SIG FOR YOU!
ya but i heard that you need to change the cluster...im not sure thought because its the same exact thing
00-05 clusters are all the same, and interchangeable. You don't need to swap it when you go to a manual transmission.
The mileage is not stored in the 00-05 cluster... it's in the BCM. So as soon as you start the car, after swapping clusters, you will get the proper mileage displayed.

Yes.
But the Sunfire and Cavalier clusters differ. The Sunfire cluster has a larger tach (which is why I bought this one) but I never got around to installing it and I'm sick of having my dash apart because I'm lazy.
True.. there used to be a Sunfire cluster in my Cav too
I just liked the fact that it's more balanced.. uses the cluster space better than the Cav does. But to the OP, you don't need to change the cluster.
hmm ok...well i found this car on ebay for 500-1k dollars and im not sure if i should buy it, its an 03 cav, but why on earth is it that cheap if its supposedly good as new, with only 43k miles on it...
i dont know, wheres the best place to buy parts for a swap at?

Two words , Salvage title. A branded title will easily be worth 1/3 less than a good title car. Plus on that one, It was 1950 when I looked, they may yank it off at the last min.
Reguardless of the price If your in the market to buy , dont buy a salvage unless you know what your looking for in poor repairs. Just because its inspected means nothing in reguards to repair quality or safety. The inspection for a salvage title is only to check for stolen parts and create state money from the inspection.
oh man thats the same cavalier i was looking at...it was at 500 when i first saw it which is what made me want to buy it right away...
but now its over 2k and i dont have that amount of money...
i wish i could just buy a car for cheap, under a grand, which i know would be near impossible to find my model for that cheap but, ya and i'd just swap everything out of that car to mine!
