my a/c turns on with the defrost? and the ac button is off and the temp it on high heat! lol and suggestions on why this is happening? Im about to just unplug ever connector to the ac.
it happens because its working.
The A/C system also dehumidifies air, when you have the defroster on your trying to melt and or dry up the moisture on the windshield, the air goes through the a/c gets dehumidified and makes it defrost faster.
Leave it alone. When its done defrosting turn it off of defrost.
O! (I feel dumb) lol Thanks! I just thought it was weird being none of my other cars did that. But cool!
X2 for what darkstars said, once it's defrosted just flip it to defrost/floor and it shoudl go off unless you have an 03+ when it annoyingly stays on. But it's good as it uses the a/c compressor in the winter and that helps with longevity. Not using A/C for a long time can make it crap out.
