Yup, picked this up Sunday. IT was BUTCHERED by the shop that did it. DO NOT GO TO DOMESTIC CREW FOR ANY WORK!
The mounting seems ok, but the wiring, EGR system and many other things are just atrocious. My buddy and I went half/half on the car, he is keeping the car and I get the doors, the RK sport pro-street coilover setp and the 11.25 brakes all around. We are swapping all exterior parts over from his other cav.
I am going to completely gut the car, convert all the wiring to 2000+ and get it running properly.
Here are some pics.
This is kinda hard to see, but this is the wiring mess under the dash.
The joke of an EGR system, this will have to be changed.
This is where the wiring comes through the firewall, the main weather pack is cut to @!#$ and not even attached to the firewall.
My car gets more love than any of these, pics will be up when its done, no sooner...
And yes, we got it for a VERY good price.
The car is a 97, it got the getrag swap, spec stage 2 clutch, aluminum flywheel, all urethane mounts, a swapped camshaft(not sure of the specs just yet), 2.5 inch exhaust, although that will be changed from the engine to the cat because that was hacked on by the people that did the swap.
I wont start working on this till mine goes to the body shop in about month and a half.
Stacey(the guy I went half half with) is coming over today and we are giving the whole car a good once over to check everything out.
What vehicle u think the master cylinder is off?? I want one without abs.
660 powered sunfire
I believe ittts off a caddilac or something. He needed to switch to something larger because of the brake upgrade he did.
You just dont learn do you?

Hey, i think this car drives more than PDT!!! lol
Well stacey came by today and we lifted the car up and got a good look. We hooked up cables and cranked it over, it cranked, but didnt start, i expected that since the fuel pump is pooched, although i can say now that i am 90% sure that that is a wiring issue. Ohwell, not gonna bother finding out, just replace it all and do it properly.
Going over the car, the shell is in AMAZING shape, interior is really good, it will all be taken out when the car is rewired, but its all good enough to re-use. The mounting seems pretty good, I will get a better look once I pull everything off the engine.
The cooling system is another joke, all kinds of hoses cut and re-connected, blocked off and even one routed through the frame into the fender well area THEN blocked off, so that will all get redone.
Exhaust needs attention aswell, downpipe is a complete joke, so I will let you guess who made that. The rest of the exhaust hangs ridiculously low, I will see if there is anything i can do about that though.
Stacey snapped a few pics, either him or I will post em in the next couple days.
No work will really get done on this for the next month and a half, I am concentrating on my car until it goes to the bodyshop, then I can start on this.
Wow, that looks worse than mine. And mine wasn't completely loomed up because I still have some wiring mods to do. TERRIBLE!
Question on the suspension. How far is it lowered, and what kind of clearance is under the oil pan?
it can go down aboutanother quarter inch.
Clearance on the oil pan actualy isnt that bad at all.

I would have to say you are correct as PDT is parked yet again.

I hope you got it very cheap, because otherwise it would have been better to get something that hadn't been touched and start from scratch!
BTW, are you going to finish the 3.5, or just keep working on more 3400s?
How many 3400's has he worked on?
^^ LOTS. Every time I hear him talk about a project he is working on it seems to involve a 3400.
Really? Well you should be to some heelp of me. I'm going with a 5 speed tranny when I do my 3400 swap. What route would you consider to be the best way to go for wiring? I have no Idea what to do. Some guys are saying 3400 harness and computer, others are saying 2nd Gen 3.1 Harness and Computer. I've even been told to go with MS-II but I'm steering clear from that If possible.
1997 Sunfire SE, 2.2 OHV.

Its wired with a 2nd gen 3.1 pcm now, so it dont need one, but it will...
