i cant quite pinpoint a location its coming from and i checked the belt so its not just flapping around.
it is unnoticeable below 2000 rpms and it gets louder a i get higher in the rpms.
anyone have this problem or maybe know what i could check out?
well i checked my fuel injectors and spark plugs today but they all seemed fine
except one of the fuel injectors had a small tear in the o-ring
also i added engine oil, i was low about a bottle.
im stumped!
could it possibly be my cams?
Well, you have NOTHING in your profile, so that doesn't help anyone rying to diagnose your problem. But from the description of it, and guessing you have a 2.4L engine, I bet any money you have a bad rod bearing.
2010 Subaru Impreza WRX Limited
1999 Cavalier Z24 Supercharged
1999 Grand AM SE (Beater Car)
1997 GMC Sierra
2007 Honda CBR 600RR
2005 Honda TRX450R
It could be a A/C compressor or the tensioner pulley. If your Lucky.. If your not, It could be a major engine problem. rods, valves lifter, crank shift, cam shaft, oil pump, or like Luke said. You will have to listen to where the noise i coming from. If it's in the front of the engine, or the back or the bottom of the engine or to the side.
If I had to roll the dice.... I'de bet that your starting to throw a rod bearing.
Is there any chance you can post a vid or audio clip?
dude stop driving your car Ill be willing to bet Its your # 4 cyliner your nuts on your rod cap are backing off.
I just had to replace my motor about 3 months ago and I sill have all the pieces of my # 4 rod & piston.
I just cant drive 55

loud clanking at 2500+ rpms
What kind of clanking is it? Is it like metal sounding or a knocking?
