Um, no? lol. What transmission where you thinking about? Keeping it in a j? If your going to do A LOT of modifications, and spend the cash, anything is possible.

OK...I'll bite...

Out of curiosity, how do you even expect to do this? Do you have the slightest idea of how much time and money is involved in a project like this? This isn't your average weekend installed turbo kit either. And you say your a noob, so I doubt you even know how to do something as simple as that. Unless you are building a pure drag or auto-x car, better money can be spent elsewhere. (like maybe tuition since it says you're a student).

I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but there are three things required to make a project like this a reality...time, money and experience. And I doubt you have items #1 or #3, so I sure hope you have plenty of #2.

and after all is said and done, you will still be slower than most of the NA FWD cars due to all the added weight from not only the drive-shaft and rear end, but from all of the extra needed supports, cradle, etc. If you want to do this just to be "different"... well...you may want to rethink that.

Yes i do kno the amount of time i will spend is over five years. i do have people that have more wisdom then a set of encyclopedia. Money however i dont have much so i dont have money to spend for someone else to work on my car. Plus it is my car and my personal thought is if you dont personally put in the wrench time it aint your.

everything going into this car will be custom by me and my uncle i understand your doubts. if you dont like my plans no offence but suck it!!!!! much love and god bless

do you have any idea how often someone makes the same post you did? Saying i'm gonna make my car RWD or RWD V8 etc.etc. Then everyone tells them its possible but you needs lots of time, money , and knowledge and tell them there not gonna go through with it blah blah blah. And every single person swears up and down that they will go through with it and they will be the first..... and it never happens.... ever.

If you don't like my doubt then no offense but suck it!!!!

As always I will believe it when I see it (never)

I have heard doubts im just asking for faith that is something this world seems to lack

Trust Me Sir Most People see some hollywood @!#$ like the fast and the furious and say oh i want that i have had this in mind before those movies came out. they only shown me possibilities of this "new Tech" i only had the dream of working out the highly improbable.

Do Me A Favor Dont die within the next 5+ years i will show all that doubt it.

Honestly I hope you go threw with it, it'd be awesome if you proved me wrong. But the chance of you actually going through with it and doing a quality, safe to drive job.... I'm not holding my breath.

If you do it you'll definetly gain my respect.... untill then its another BS post about big ambitions that go nowhere.

I will also hold my breath but after holding so long ill either choke or let out a sigh of relief and im not to stupid to die of not breathing so lets try this whole thinglol. I am first building the back area up starting with the axel i am sure that im going to have to make a bunch of room so wheel wells are going to get cut out and the spare tire area flatened to make room for the axel. hows that sound for a start?

The s10 has a rear axel of 7.5 i think plus i dont think that it will hold the power i plan on putting through it.

And i kno everybody knows somebody. however not everybody knows somebody that knows anything...if that makes sence my uncle and i have worked on his 83' cutless supreme and he is now working on his 25th aniverery hurst olds. (gawd i cant spell today) i would however help him but i live around 60 miles away and am attending school around 40 hours aweek so i cant. this will be a trick ride when complete but as of no take the side of the fence that has seen the quitters or sit on the fence but im running down the back alley with the grin on my face when it is done

FWIW...Not saying it's going to happen, but... it is far easier to place a body on an already existing frame, than to hack an existing body&frame that was never intended to spin the rear wheels.

too bad there never was a 25th anniversary hurst/olds. last production one was the 15th in 1983 and then they had the 20th anniversary that only 8 or so were ever made (if you can call it that with how they did it that year). my bro has a 1983 Hurst/Olds.

Why bother? It'll be just as fast (slow) as it was when it was FWD. And you'll probably blow $10,000+ doing a useless conversion.

I know how much these things cost.. I'm at $3,500 stuffing a FWD 3.8L V6 supercharged engine into my Cavalier. And that's with me doing just about all the work myself... and my car's been off the road for over a year now.

If you're going RWD... do something cool... not a stock engine. That's just lame.
