I'm just curiouse.... I know I can't be the only one here With a Sunfire SE that came with a 2.4 from the factory, but I'm kinda wondering how rare it is. Anyone else have one or know how common or rare it is? Been wondering for awhile.

If you go to autozone.com and start the process of selecting a part for your car, it will tell you how many were made of each model.

Its not exactly rare, my sister had one.

my vert is an SE and it has the 2.4 also.

SE were standard with the 2.2l and optional with the 2.4l.

While Sunfire verts were all SEs prior to '99, the 2.4 came as standard equipment in them starting in the '96 model year.

really? i thought the 2.2 was base with the 2.4 optional, just like the cavs. hmm....

either way its still a 2.4 SE

my sister had a 4 dr with the 2.4 in it. first one i seen around my area. i got in it to test drive it and i was like wtf it was a lot faster off the line, then i popped the hood and seen the 2.4

Im kinda wondering if my car was ordered that way by the original buyer. You wouldn't think GM dealerships would have had many Sunfire SE's with 2.4's in them on the lot when my car was new. (Really the only selling point for the GT was the engine, and they needed to sell them too), but you never know.

I'm glad I found the thing... It looks like a 2.2 but it isn't... plus I've never cared much for the GT bumpers.
