Intake manifold

The other day I took my intake manifold off to replace my starter and noticed there was quite a bit of oil in there. I don't think that is normal could anyone help me out?

If you updated your registry, we could probably help you a little more. Apparently the 96-98 LD9 motors have 2 points to ccv. There is a line coming from the timing chain housing that connects to a black box on the engine block which then runs a hose that connects to your intake (like all LD9's). For the 96-98 there is also a small hole on the head between runners 2&3 (I think). I had a 99' head and personally never noticed the ccv in the head, but I may have overlooked the hole in the head, because it is small.

Could it just be oil leftover from before you put in the breather filter?

The hole in the head is there, yes between 2&3, it is small... and it's on the 99-02 as well.
