i decided to keep the origonal engine trans axle set up on my re build
i would like to get my tansaxle looking like brand new before it goes back in, i sure dont want to just rattle can job it.
any advice on doing the job with out spending a load of cash,
would a good solvent and power wash do the trick?
Simple green, stiff toilet brushes, and if you want a little shine, scotchbrite it. If you want alot of shine, spend many many hours polishing it, that'd look damn good, and you would be among the few to do that.
i guess i will wait and see how motivated i get while doing the job
im getting there, i used engine degrease, flat tip screw drivers to scrape off the heavy junk, wire brush attach on my drill, i took before pics so this sholuld be a cool before and after. I work crazy hours so it may be take a while.
maybe i will post the before.
my youngest son went to a big concert sunday, H.I.M lincoln park and heck a bunch of others, down in denver.
so i he got all kinds of coll vynil stickers, put them in cool spots on the car, i think he is trying to claim it.
A little better
i still want it way way better than this
the works toilet bowl cleaner (my wifes idea) went nuts on the grease and junk and it is caustic enough it shines the aluminum quite a bit.
Man, that's the cleanest Isuzu trans I've seen in years!!! Nice work.
...j
crazy part is im not done yet
but thanks!!
Looks pretty good so far.
thanks, i will get it cleaned up un the uderside and spots i missed, and probably call it good,
oh
and replace the axle seals and input seal, already have em just gotta put em in.
You might replace that backup light switch too, they have a tendency to die, and they are pretty cheap for the most part.
thanks i will do that, The car is gonna be apart a while so im gonna take my time to get everything i can fixed while the engine bay is empty.
Oven cleaner works pretty good at cleaning engines/trannys.
