Switched engines and now won't start
Sunday, August 26, 2007 5:37 PM
I replaced my 2.2 ohv with another from a 96 Cavalier. Got everything hooked up and it cranked a few times but wouldn't start. I found out that one of my injectors was not seated all the way and fixed that. The problem is that when I try to start it now it will just click like twice and then I lose all power. Any Ideas???? Oh, it's a 95 auto 2 door coupe. if that helps any..

Please help, if much longer of not getting it running will either part it out or sell it all!!!

Need Help

The no crank problem sounds like a bad connection in the battery cables. Also could be a dead battery.

As for the no start, you have to find out whether your getting spark, fuel pressure, injector pulse, and compression.

Check all of your grounds, too. I have seen that problem plenty of times from an improper ground. You can even have a solid voltage reading at the gauge, but the current required for the starter to turn requires a solid pathway.

OK ground wire was bad, car started, but injector was leaking. Changed out the injector and now car runs erratically. Won't get up to an idle speed or run on it's own. Any body got any answers??
