i have a 98 2200 cavalier 5 speed, idk if i am looking in the wrong places or what for info but does a 2.4 bolt directly up to the isuzu trans in my car?? I'm not sure if there was one isuzu 5 speed for the 2200 and 2.4

It will not bolt up. You need to swap the tranny.

However, if you get the Isuzu from the 2.4, it will still bolt right into your car. The trannies are actually the same, but they just have different bellhousings.

Actually the internals are different too, the 2.2 has different gearing than the 2.4, although the 2.2 transmission guts will swap into a 2.4 transmission case.

Yes, but from the standpoint of swapping, it's the fit that matters.

The 2.4 has a higher FDR, plus different 3rd and 4th, but the VSS will output correctly anyway. Still 4000ppm.

upper mount is different, going from single cam to a twin, lowers are the same. All trans mounts are the same...but your going to need the wiring from the 2.4, since thats different.
