When that crapalier of mine gets running..one of the first things i know im going to want to do to it.. that doenst involve the engine is to get these rims on it..
However..
It appears since they are 5x110 im going to have to change over all 4 hub assemblies and a rear discbrake conversion.
How difficult would this really end up being?
thing is.. everyone and their dog with a cobalt ss is changing their rims if they can cuz they dont like the ones they get from the factory..
too bad for them but good for me for buying at such an inexpensive price.
But ya. just kinda wondering if im way over my head in thinkingit can be done without many issues or any atall before i decide to grab a set.

easiest way would be to get your hubs redrilled to 5x110. but good luck with that, cuz no one in the jbody world has done that yet.

the only problem with those rims, if they are the rims im thinking of, is the weight. they weigh well over 60lbs with tires on them. not fun for rotating or gas mileage
i have also noticed that the monte carlo sports similar wheels, might look into getting those instead?

monte Carlo, HHR and Cobalt SS used such similar rims that the only way to tell the difference is the hub size. . monte carlo, as stated uses the 5x115, cobalt the 5x110, and I can't seem to remember what the HHR is though. . in between the 2 if I'm not mistaken. .
i thought the hhr was also 5x110.

to save headaches later on down the road, try and find a rim that is 5x100

Yep, Cobalt, HHR, G5, G6, Solstice, Sky, and a few others all use 5x110.
Not sure what's up with GM and the need to start using yet another bolt pattern over the last couple of years.
Probably just to make us swappers have to work harder.
no @!#$, if they would have kept it the same i'd probalby have aftermarkets on the hhr by now.

monte carlo SS uses a similar rim
that pic looks like the 17" cobalt SS wheel , the openings are to big for the 18" wheel
ive know several guys with redlines and SS talk about going to 5x100 so they can get wheels , finding 5x110 is a royal bitch
drilling the hubs , rotors and drums is your best and least expensive option , but better to stick with 5x100
for the rears you could use a rear wheel bearing off of a new malibu....its got the same bolt pattern. It doesnt have wheelspeed sensor in it. Then re drill the the drum.
he front you might get lucky witht eh wheel bearing bolting up to the stock spindle. no one knows for sure
i know i would love some SS wheels on my car

It has the same 4 bolt mounting pattern as the J-body?
I was somewhat wondering the same. . . I wasn't aware that 4x100 was the same as 5x100. . .
no, the "4 bolt mounting pattern" is the hub-to-car mounting pattern of the wheel bearing. although, no wheel speed sensor will make your abs say >=o

here is a G6/Malibu hub
I dont think it will work, cobalt hubs are similar and don't fit either- I personally know !!
