I swapped a 96 2.2 for a 2000 2.2. I have everything together and it starts but it wont stay running. I had to switch the harness, so the wiring is a little different. I think it might have something to do with the fuel pump relay . Can anybody shed some light as to why it starts but wont stay running?
Does it start for about 2-3 seconds and then cut off? If so it is theft lock. Do a search for theft lock relearn.
FU Tuning

It does just that. 2-3 seconds and then cuts off.
I searched but couldn't find anything on ""theft lock relearn" . Any other suggestions?

+1
If you had to swap the harness and went to the 00+ PCM, then you need to basically swap the wiring harness to the entire car. Which includes adding the BCM. It's not starting cuz you dont have the BCM is my guess.
Thanks for all of the help guys. I'm gonna give the passlock code relearn a try. I have my fingers croosed....I hope it works.
Maybe try changing the fuel filter too.
I can attest first hand that you need either a) the BCM or 2) some way to disable the Passlock by other means (HPT for example)
Whooosh!! It's running now. Thanks to all...especially Kardain for the link. I just needed to do the passlock relearn process.
