Just wanted to update everyone. Finally, after blowing my 2200 2 months ago, I'm back on the road. I'll have pics soon.
BTW, anybody wanting to do this make sure you get the shift cable bracket with your new Eco 5spd. The pld 2200 F23 5spd one will NOT work no matter how much you try to bent and work it into place. I fought that thing for two days with no success while tracking down the correct one. Got the right one this morning and worked perfect. My car is done. My wife's glad.
Good job!You will love the ecotec
nice. i ran into same prob with the bracket. couldnt get a hold of one, except for gm. $80. congrats on the swap. wasnt hard at all eh.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
Wasn't bad really. Just wish I would've had a chance to prepare for the swap instead of my engine blowing. Most of the pain in the butt was waiting for and finding parts.
Looks beautiful...be proud of that job! Hope u have a lot of fun with it... now get the Hahn Racecraft kit!!!!
I live for the lateral G's...
Might be going NA. If PJ can put up a 14.0 pass all motor, I'd like to break into the bottom end and get one into low 13s maybe 12s all motor. But, boost is always sexy.
good job onthe swap man! its nice to see the ecotec swap starting to take off since its pretty much a bolt-on lol
with stock compression 13s is definetly possible, i'm just unsure of how healthy my engine is.
ben did it on an 8.9:1 motor so 10:1 should have no problem.
I am thinking about trying a different set of cams tho..
