ha ha ha i know there are constant explosions in the engine. i've just never had a car take so long to cool. my 96 cavie or my talon cool twice as fast as the eco.

ditto for my 04. its an aluminum block &head thing. they shed heat very well, continuing to dump heat into the coolant, thus the coolant temp stays up for a long time. if you used an IR thermometer, youd notice the block&head cool, though the coolant seems to hold its temp. Have you also noticed it heats up quickly as well? my 04 heats up at least 2x as fast as my gf's 99 malibu (2.4tc) and my old sunfire (2200) did, they are both iron block engines, and iron doesnt really like to absorb heat, though it resists it well.
