'02 OEM CNG Bi-Fuel Cav on eBay

Dunno how much of interest this is to people, but for history's sake, it's a bit of a rare one. Last time I saw any of them, I was touring a GM prototype shop in '97. The group of 'em then had Toyo Tails. Note how modified the OEM foglamp-style dimmer switch to include a fuel selector switch. Gotta love it.

Pros:
-Low miles for fleet vehicle
-CNG fuel filler door beneath LH tail lamp
-Extra range? (14 gal gas + 6 gal CNG)

Cons:
-When's the last time you saw CNG for sale by you?
-Where's the trunk space?
-No mas fold-down seat.

Too busy driving to mod...

I drove these things all of the time when I worked at NJ Department of Transportation. They run by default on CNG and will switch over to regular gas when the CNG supply is depleted. They run like crap on regular gas.

i wish i could get the part number for the hinges on that filler area, and adapt them to the other side for putting gas into the car

they shouldnt. the only diff between cng cav and regular 2200 is the extra injector and piping for cng. when running on gas it shoudl run jsut liek a normal 2200

id love to own one but i like my sunfire...maybe i shoudl do a conversion

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

I have a 2003 and 2004 CNG cavalier. I have also owned a 2001. The 2003 and up have the ecotec with a second fuel rail with cng injectors. The older ones put the CNG right into the intake with a gas/air mixer. They work pretty well and I have not had any problems with them. The older ones were a little lazy off the line and on hills, but the ecotec's run pretty well.

I bet since it is used to running with the CNG when you toggle to regular fuel the ECU needs a while to retune to the new fuel. However long it would take to burn in a new ECU. You think that could be it? Made sense to me

I think that the second fuel rail would be a nice way to inject some nitrous.
