ok, I have a 95 z24, and the guy i bought it off was cheap so when the original muffler that was on it, you know, with the 2 little tail pipes on it, well it fell off and he put a smaller muffler on it, with a single tail pipe on it, could that effect ther car in anyway? i just wanted to know, thanks alot!
Not much, if you like how it sounds and the car performs ok, you should have no problem. If planing to install a header and biger piping I would get a hi -performance muffler like flowmaster .
Flowmaster would sound horrible on a 4-banger.
Wait, is the z-24, a 4-cylinder? or 6?
If it's a 6, then I'm sorry.
all 3rd gen cavs are 4 cylinders. none came factory with 6
yea it wont hurt your preformance!!! but yea if you are gettign a preformance one the dyno maxx is the best in the world!!!! hands down!!!!

i agree. i love the sound of my 2.5" piping and dynomax super turbo muffler. it pops when i slow down but i got no res so thats why i get so much of it.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
OK. A Flowmaster doesn't sound bad on a four banger. I have a 60 series DF on my 99 Sunfire, it sounds great. Flowmaster is the way to go. Dynomax rust out...

dynomax here and i painted it with high black heat engine enamel. hope thet helps keep it from rusting. but i definitely love the sound. at idle the tone is so low that when you stand behind the c ar your ears pop but its not obnoxiously loud.
i love my magnaflow with 2.25 custom piping
I have custom 2.25" piping from the cat back with a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler and it sounds great, I don't know about it rusting out or not because it's the first I've had, but I guess time will tell.
Nah dude it's not gonna hurt it at all,If ur considering goin with a new one though definetly go with Magnaflow I love my custom built 3 inch Exhaust system also but any Magnaflow muffler seems to work well & sound good on most J s'.
OH no you don't! '4 bangers' sound so sweet if they're done properly (L)

No it doesn't . I have a 60 Series Flow on my Sunfire. So you dont know what your talking about. Sounds better than those so-called "performance mufflers" most people get. Stupid fart cans. Waaaaaaaa!!

you could do what i did on my 04 cav. i had the shop do full 2.25" back from the cat and Y'd it out right after the back wheels and put in 2 resonators with a nice tip on each. looks and sounds great. not like those fart can import exhausts. it has a nice low tone and it turns lots of heads, ive gotten hundreds of compliments on it and it only cost like $350

Wait a second...95 Z24? that car should have a 2.3L engine right
My 2000 Tiburon (V6's came out in 2002) had a flowmaster on it and sounded great, and it was a 4 banger. My 95 2.4L sunfire has a FULL pacesetter exaust on it...too loud, but I did it for the performance gains, not for the sound. People hate my exaust, unless there purists. Don't worry about your dealer installed muffler until you wan't to upgrade the exaust, it should'nt be any more restrictive than stock.
