I'm averaging 34 at 75 mph, completly stock. What have you been averaging?
I am only getting around 200 to 250 miles on a tank of gas and I have a 96 sunfire se 2.2 3sp and I only drive 60mph.

i can go 350 miles on 3/4s of a tank.
my 2000 Z 2.4 5 speed - gets about 375 from a full tank to the gas light
my 1993 VL 2.2 3 speed w/ overdrive - gets about 400 from a full tank to the gas light
only time ive checked highway only mileage i got 28 mpg, but that was with passengers and luggage, driving around 80mph. my average is 31-32 in a 65/35 split of 50-60mph non highway roads and 75-80 mph highway driving.

i used to get about 290-310 per tank (12.7 gallons to refill)
but i switched over to synthetic oil (royal purp)
and got platinum plugs to replace my old ones
and now on my last long trip (75-80mph) i got 380miles
this is an 00 base coupe auto
im going home again friday from myrtle beach to maryland, so ill be getting some new numbers
i also use Synthetic oil (however i use Mobil 1)
and i have platnum plugs (AC Delco)
and i used excel 8 mm wires on the 93
i havent had to change the boots on the Z yet thats coming up next month...
any suggestions as to which boots i should run
my car is stock other than a CAI and what ive done for oil, and plugs... so whatever your running now shouldnt be terrible. im getting 10mm wires for my plugs very soon hopefully that'll give me a nice little kick.
I have an 02 Cavalier, 2door. 2200 (non ecotec) with a 5 speed. AEM cold air, Pacesetter headers, OBD II cat, Magnaflow resonator, Vibrant cat back, BIG 3 upgrade, Yellow Top, Taylor wires. On the highway I can get about 600 km to a tank that works out to around 375 miles on a fill up. But that is when I mind the speed limit. The car is also lowered on Eibach Pro Kit and KYB AGX's along with Eibach sway bar and GM vert strut bar.

wow i guess i'm getting some crappy mileage. on average between freeway and city i'm getting about 27-28mpg. on a long drive i went 60 mph for a entire tank and got about 31 mpg. then on the way back i went 85 mph for a entire tank and it went down to 27mpg. i also got a 2000 base cavalier standard, with intake, headers, exhaust, and testpipe.

My J gets some pretty crappy gas mileage, not sure on exact figures but it sucks.. that's because the torque converter soleniod is bad and over drive doesn't engage though.
And if you think 27 mpg is crappy, f you buddy.. try driving my Camaro daily for a month and see which one you like more when it comes to gas mileage.
LOL
1983 Camaro Z28
I get about 25mpg, but I also live in Grand Rapids (fairly large town, cold half the year)
On teh hwy, at 70 I can do 30 sih

alright i changed my oil... i really didnt need to, found that out after the fact when i looked at the royal purp. but anyway castrol GTX high mileage killed my gas mileage.. i got 325 on the tank this time... definetly changing back to royal purple when i change my oil again... and im not listening to my parents anymore either. my car is burning the castrol off very slowly... i never had this problem when i had the royal purple in there...
i average about 38-40 highway but i have modded the ignition and i always use full synthetic oil dont know if it helps much but i can go 425-440 miles on a tank of gas
2.4L, Automatic, Mobil 1
I get 28 commuting to work - about half freeway and the rest small town stop and go.
Cruising the interstate, about 33 mpg.
1997 2.2L OHV, 4 spd auto. I'm lucky to get 15mpg. I'm constantly short-tripping. My typical daily travel includes two 5-mile trips to work, and two 2-mile trips during lunch hour. A tank of gas lasts between 2 and 3 weeks.

During the winter time I got around 28mpg which is roughly about 300 miles to the tank and 11 - 12gallons untill I'm full. The most I ever got was 38mpg and that was on a road trip, doing 70mpg just after I changed my fuel filter

I have a 2003 Cavalier; I get an average of 31 mpg. I have a K&N intake, Pacesetter exhaust with header, and a vibrant cat. I was getting better mpg with just the intake. I have replaced the spark plugs to platinum and doing the regular maintenance. I am still getting the same mileage. Looking to increase it some more. I have not tried Royal Purple. With all of thes suggestions, What is there left to do to my car to increase the mpg????
Sounds like you guys are getting way better mileage than I am. Last fillup I got 19mpg. Granted it is winter here and I'm sure that all the ice that's on the car adds some weight but damn. Summertime I got 34mpg on my trip to michigan. I've noticed that when I put gas in that has the ethanol, even the stuff that's up to 10% ethanol, compared to just straight gas, the ethanol fuel gets at least 4 mpgs less. I try not to put that crap in if I can help it. How much does a k&n actually help, just the drop in type of filter?
04 Ls sedan 2.2 eco 4 speed auto straight 10/30 oil i average about 30 to 32 33 somewhere in there unless i start hotrodding and floorboarding the s*** out of it , then i get such crappy mileage you'd swear it was small V8.
21 Freeway w/ the Eco Auto
36-38 w/ the 3400 5 spd
I get just under 300 miles to a tank, but that was when I had no exaust from the cat back..It may be better with my new exuast!
I had better luck with just the intake I lost mpg when I placed my exhaust I lost the mpg put increased the horsepower.

I'm at two 7 mile trips to work and two 1 to 2 mile lunch trips and still get roughly 29mpg in a 2200 5spd. Was getting 1 to 2mpg more than that until I swapped over to the quad 4 throttle body.
