I admit I am a noob here but a fast learner and am trying to tune my only car while sharing it with my wife- Question is I have an 2.2 Ecotec and on the furl rail the fuel pressure regulator is set up with a return line. Meaning it has fuel in, fuel out, and an air line. So what I am wondering is if anyone can tell me how that works? Is the air line a vacuum source to regulate the fuel presure? Are the after market regulators then worth anything unless you are looking to do 10+ boost? I checked the forums ahead of time to see if this was anywhere so forgive me if I missed it. Thanks for any help you guys can give and I am glad to be part of the community.
yes, the air line comes from the intake manifold and adjusts the fuel pressure regulator to set a certain pressure in the fuel rail. any left over fuel is sent back to the gas tank in the return lines.
I'm kind of a newb when it comes to stuff like this, but I would say that the stock pressure regulator should be good with basic engine bolt-ons. go boost, and you should look at aftermarket ones. some people are using the LT1 fuel pressure regulator.

Thanks FReQ Z - so the Lt1 adjustables state they can be adjusted anywhere from 30-70psi would you happen to know whats the nrom on a stock regulator for the ecotec and if dramatically lower would I need fuel injectors to keep up?
