Can somebody tell me what is the difference between the cavalier 2.2 and the 2.4 alternators. i pulled up info and it seems both has the same model number for the plugs, so im guessin the only difference is probably maybe the brackets where u bolt up? can somebody clarify for me.

Yup, they bolt up differently... amperage is different depending on the motor too.

If you're going on plug only.. hey, the alternator on my 3.8L V6 is the same plug too... but there's no way it'll fit the 2.2L or the 2.4L.

Yup, 3400 has the same plug as well. Mount points are different though.

I take it you need a 2.2 alternator. Too bad you dont live closer, I have a 2.2 alternator sitting in the bottom of my toolbox.
