my ls sport has a 2200 i haven't figured out why, but i have the full sport package without the ecotec
It's not an LS Sport, it just has the extra appearance package.
i see alot of cavaliers like that. i noticed they dont have the foglamps. thats how you can tell if its got the eco i think if its got the fog lights its got the eco if it dont its got the 2200.
Also in 2002 Z24's had the foglights and the lip kit, as well the z24 badge.

its not a LS sport
its a base model cav with the sport appearance/handling package , the didnt get fog lights , didnt get the up level interior , the LS badge , the eco , and the painted mirrors or door handles , i keep forgetting which
alot of people that bought those were told they were getting a LS sport , when they bought the el'cheapo base models with that package
a true LS sport has chrome wheels

and ive seen a few come off delivery trucks with the machine faced wheels
I think it's the mirrors that don't get painted on the fake LS Sports. That's pretty messed up that dealers would swap the rims to make them look more like LS Sports....of course they also pulled the Z22 also

The 2200 came in the LS Sport early in the 02 model year. The ECO showed up later in the year. My 02 VLX (LS in U.S.) has the 2200 and I picked it up in Dec of 01. It does not have the power windows, or the sport appearance package.

my 04 ls sport had the machined face wheels when i bought it new . and its loaded otherwise....power everything, side airbags, xm radio...the works.

Ntmd8tor.. there was no LS Sport in Canada
it's called the Z24.. and it never came with a 2200 engine.. 2.4L then 2.2L Eco only...
The LS Sport Appearance Package (in the US) and the Z24 Appearance package (also known as the Z-Type dealer package) doesn't mean you have any particular engine. Heck, you could get an LS Sedan with the Z24 appearance package... with lips, red badges, etc... everything but fog lamps. Unless someone added the lamps... ha ha... but check the VIN, it's still an LS unless the VIN says otherwise. This is a great way to save on your insurance... the insurance company thinks it's a base or mid-level model... but if it's got the appearance package AND the DOHC motor... you win
unless they write your car off and lowball you, that is.. but I digress...
I can't remember what the VIN numbers are right now... but the body code (5th and 6th positions) are what tells you for sure.
ok a little off topic here but my ls sport is registered as ls sport ss Z24 dont know what this mean but does any one else
I'm not sure about the SS part, but when my car under my parents insurance it said 2002 LS SPORT Z24. The only reason I can think of why they did that was b/c they made both models that year and were too lazy to see what I had. I know have insurance with my fiance and it said LS SPORT.
