Oil Pressure sender on a 1998 2.2 ohv motor

hey guys im new here so bare with me.

im trying to install some autometer gauges in my 98 2.2 ohv. ive got the water temp in but my question is, what size socket do i need to take out the oil pressure sender on the back of the motor?

never mind guys i figured it out. it was 1 1/16

There's a better spot... on the back of the engine, just above the oil filter. Don't have to worry about the sender shearing off accidentally.

Use a 1/4" ratchet w/ a short extension, no socket, to take off the cap plug.

You may need to use a 1/8" Female NPT to 1/4" Male NPT adapter for the sender.

thanks for the info, i got mine off without a problem and installed the new sender for the gauge. works good. the motor pulls 50 psi at idle

That seems really high to me.... my car only pulls 19-22 psi at idle. If I recall, it should be in the neighborhood of 20-ish per GM specs...

im also running 50wt racing oil. i think thats got something wrong with it. lol.
