need radiator part numbers for 03-05
Friday, January 05, 2007 1:37 PM
I heard that they make a "heavy duty" radiator for the Eco's. I was wondering if someone could help me find the part numbers for them. specifically, I'm trying to see if they make one for a 5 speed, not just an auto.

thanks in advance for any help.

yeah, the stock one. I'd like to have the heavy duty one. as to the differences between them, I'm unsure.
is yours the 5-speed model?

22661218 -- Radiator, Standard Trans, 24mm core

The other one is 22724215 -- Radiator, Standard Trans, 16mm core

While I still have the chance I'll just do an edit... call around and see what a rad shop will charge for a 1" core radiator. GMPartsDirect wants 260-something for the 24mm. I have a 1" rad and oh man, its nice. Only time I start to overheat is when I'm stuck in traffic for extended periods of time (cooling fan wiring issues)

hey Rob... what mounting issues did you have? or was it a full custom job? can you give me a price range?

It was a custom job. Ran me just shy of $200

No mounting issues at all with mine, so either the original owner got a 1" core rad as a replacement or the car came with one from the factory.

No... the radiator I put in was new, I'm the second owner of the car... I didn't know that it had a thicker rad when I got the car. A stick put a hole in the rad in the car originally, so I had to get a new one. I opted to get a bigger than stock rad.

I expected it to be a problem going in (with the thicker core over stock) but it fit like it belonged, meaning that someone put a thicker rad in before I bought the car either at the factory (the 24mm one) or the original owner had one put in.

that blows.

I might have a hookup at work. turns out my boss knows a rad builder that works a lot with dirt track and drag car stuff.
