Do you all think $1,500 is a good price for a 2000 Z24 coupe with a manual trans. and a knocking motor? It also has around 100,000 miles.
I bought a motor with a SLIGHT knock . That knock ended up costing me engine work and new pistons for a total of a little over $1600 on top of what I paid for the engine. So what I would do to be safe is take my $1600 estimate for engine work, add it to the $1500 for the car, for a conservative estimate of $3100 . Check that against Kelly's Blue Book .
^^ thats not a bad idea, although you should be able to pick up a used 2.4 for $500 or less with decent miles. install yourself is free, or no more than another $500 for a shop to do it. high end total of 2500 for an 00 z sounds like a good price to me.
