hey guys...97 2.2l 5spd four door cavy...77,000 miles. with an intake and thats about it. cant quite figure out why my car bogs not really wanted to stall just very hesitate under acc. thru all the gears. ran some injector cleaner and it didnt do anything. plus i either got a lifter ticking or a timing chain noise. theses noises are at low RPMs thru half maybe 3/4 throttle. i cant pinpoint the sound. also i put a new thermostat AND water pump on recently and at drive thru or sitting for a few minutes the temp gauges so just before the red...always. i hear the fan kick on and it doesnt do much of anything till i drive and get air to it. head gasket maybe because i smell coolant alot. what is causing my car to bog and studder. could anyone help me out wit this? if more info is needed tell me and ill let you know...

thankx guys

At the top of the engine, across the front side, you see that black pipe. There's a little vent there. You need to unscrew it then fill your coolant. Sounds kinda like you might have some air in there. That little bleeder screw lets air out, as water fills.

Replace any O2 sensors at all since you've owned it? That could cause the stalling, if one goes bad.

I got a 97 GTP, and it took me quite a few times to get all the air out. At least to the point where the Temp needle wasnt bouncing way up and down. Could probably use a few more tries at it.

Give it a couple more tries, see what happens.
