Depends on where you go. Just make sure you get all the accesorries to swap over as well (comp/wiring. Motor mounts etc.)

I dont know where you live but around here its rare to find a motor that is still complete.

im not sure im going to find one or be able to afford it at all, just thought someone might have a rough ballpark figure on how much... now that i think about it i might stick with the underdog and just buy a 2200, whatever i can get for it, the block mostly is what id get, and build a motor out of it.. who knows, im door shopping primarily, but we'll see

Anywhere from $200 to $1200. You'll need pretty much everything from the firewall forward, including the transmission, mounts, ecu, wiring, etc.

will i need to get the trans too? i thought the eco would drop right on in the 2200 bay, with wiring and everything else of course, but i thought i could use the same transmission... maybe im crosswired in the brain and im thinking of a different swap...

at work the average price for an ecotec engine is $450 CDN most have about 50KMS on them. thats just the engine, you might get a few accessorys but usually we take most of them.

the trans your looking at about $350 CDN.

You need the transmission, the bell housings are completely different, all the ECU and wiring is different, BCM is different, mounts are different...

There's a wrecker near me that's selling Eco's for $300, trans for $300... you can sweet talk them and grab all the wiring, pedals, etc if you needed too.

But I'm on the West Coast... far, far away from most of you

I appreciate all the effort, although, some new payments have just eeked theyre way into my wallet, so a motor swap is out of the question till at least spring of next year.

But now I know where to ask around about getting a motor for!

thanks for the help fellas

you don't need the BCM

ecu
engine
transmission
upper motor mount
exhaust manifold and catalytic converter
engine wiring harness
intake
ecotec radiator
ecotec fuel return line
ecotec upper radiator hose
ecotec lower radiator hose

thats pretty much the jist of it.. anything you can get, take you'd rather have too much than not enough
