Engine Wire Harness?

1996 Sunfire GT 2.4 L
How big of an undertaking is replacing the engine bay wire harness? ie: from the big plug under the stock airbox, to all the sensors and electrical connections.. to the computer. It doesn't seem like it'd be TOO hard to do myself if I just unplug and replace one thing at a time, but sometimes with cars you can easily get into something more complicated than you can handle.

Reason I ask this is because my car has an issue - *usually* when it rains and when my car hasn't recently been driven in a few hours... It does this thing where it runs on 3 cylinders for seemingly no reason. If I let it run/warm up for awhile, it fixes itself and runs on all 4... depending on how much it rained.. has been from 5 mins warming up to 2 hrs of driving before it fixes.. and yes my cat is already shot :/ ....

Also, my cooling fan does not turn on when it's supposed to, for seemingly no reason. Everything seems in working order (relay, ECT, fan motor).. so I just installed a switch to ghettofix it.

But either way, I figure there's corrosion in my engine wiring harness somewhere, probably near the computer in the passenger fender. So my idea of a solution is to replace the entire wire harness under the hood.

Any suggestions?

Also, if anyone has a wire harness for a 96/97 Sunfire GT 5 sp with a/c, I'll buy it off you!
And a good cat if you have it :p

my friend had a similar problem on his 96 s-10 w/ 2.2 . the problem turned out to be that his coil packs weren't seated properly and when it was moist out they would arc under them selfs.

lol @ 2 months for a response
He has already decided not to bother putting more cash into the Sunfire and is looking for a newer car.
I'll check the coil packs for him anyways, maybe could net a few extra $ when he sells it. Thanks.
