I own a 98 Cavalier Z24 that I'm lookin to turbocharge in the future. Its only got 91,000 mi and is in good running condition. There's a small oil leak on the rear main but thats minor. I've read similar articles but I was wondering if a T3 custom turbo, probably an E-bay special, setup would work with a LD9. Also what do you guys think about silicone intercooler pipe? Any help would be welcome.
search the boost forum........ or read 1 or 2 of the stickies at the top of that forum.....

Yeah I've been doin that for the last couple of day but I just wondered if any of you serious techys out there would have anything helpful. But yeah I think I will look there again.
I think this is what you were looking for, compressor maps..read up and enjoy
not for the very poor at math. Most people stick with the 15/16/20G mitsu turbos, t3 super 60, or go t3/t4. All depends on what you want to do with it, bigger isnt always better. Matching your cars powerband to the sweet spot of the map will give you the best results. If the turbo is too large, the boost doesnt build until very late in the rpms and you don't use it to its full potential. If its too small you can build boost too soon and be maxing out the efficiency before you reach top rpm.

T3 should be a good size for it.. i got a 99 with a T3 turbo... just make sure how big u want to go.. that way u dont have to buy other turbos in the future..... one thing tho.. Stay Away From MaximumBoost""""....
What does everyone else thing bout E-bay? I mean more than one educated opinion is required I wanna do a turbo kit for bout $800 I've read plenty of sites sayin thats possible, but not if i spend $600 on just the turbo..
ive bought some stuff on ebay that turned out okay but you do have to read listings very carefully and always do research on what you are looking to buy.i also have a 98 cav. conv. and am going turbo by next summer and i have seen some good deals on turbo kits and some that look like they have been beaten to death it might be worth $1500-2000 for a nice complete brand new kit

i bought the b&m shift plus for $25 less than retail,my edelbrock nitrous system which retailed for around $700 and i paid $325 and i basically made a complete list from intake manifold to secret cams etc; etc;in My Ebay but there are also a lot of good deals on jbody so keep an eye on the classifieds .as far as cost comparison there was a complete kit that looked very well used but came with two turbos, injectors and a lot more that went for $810 with shipping and ive found brand new kits for the 2.4 twin w/out an intercooler for $2500 brand new. but you can also try to find deals on each individual thing you need and slap a decent turbo kit together but if you really want good info on turbo setups go to the boost forum

Not to get off subject too far but what turbo would be best if I was going to slap together a remote mount turbo? I'm lookin for something that will spool up decently fast. I've found some turbos with at .70 A/R but i thought you guys might have some good suggestions
i am not the one to talk to about turbos being a newbie and all but ive heard the 15g spools up fast but might be a little small
