Ive got a tapping noise when I start my car any ideas??????? its definatly not a lifter or any thing like that

yes it does it mostly when it is cold

What oil are you using? Might be getting dry from oil runoff then stops making noise when the engine gets oil everywhere again. Cold parts in the winter tend to have excessive slack from parts contracting in the cold and if oil is draining off and drying out the engine that can make it louder...
Basicly if it's only when the engine is cold and it goes away after 2-5 seconds and doesn't come back don't worry about it...yet
