I have a 1997 z 234 (2.4) I need to get a engine like yesterday is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction?
I'm on it waiting for a reply, what engines can go in this car? just 2.4 L twin ?
the easiest swap from that (from what I've heard) is the 2.2 Ecotec swap. that's what I'm putting in my '02 Z24 hopefully soon.

why do you need a new engine, didnt you take your car to the dealership, arent you the one who thought they needed coil packs, and i said i would help you, then you said you would take it to the stealership, so what actually happened to your motor????
You need to remember that this is an international forum.... I'm in Vancouver, BC and can tell you a bunch of wreckers that have 'em.... but that isn't going to help you much.
Umm sry im in michigan, we took it to a dealership and the timeing chain has broke so they fixed that and now they say that the engine is on only 2 cyl so they think that the engine has some messed up valves. Can anyone help me find a engine local Metro detroit ?
when they did the timing chain, they should of checked the valves and pistons before replacing it. If not, that dealership sucks.
thats where we are at right now, they are tellling me that the valves are bad.
So they say fix that ... should i or just get a engine? Where can i find a few 100k miled 2.4 L for a few hundred dollors 4-500.
id like to see a 2.4 with 154 miles on it..lol
Just do the head, cheaper and easier as long as you didn't punch the pistons. Get the motor if the pistons are damaged.
The dealership should have checked for that when they saw the chain was broken. It would make sense though, and we know how some dealerships work.
if u dont mind an hr to hr and a half drive there is a junk yard down here with about 40 2.4s in it and one at like every yard around most cahrge only around 100 to 150 if u want to make the drive I'll get the engine pulled for u before u make the drive to make it easier on you just email or pm if interested
