To start i have a 96 2.2, 5sp. When i take off at a light/stop sign etc, my whole car vibrates including the dash and every everything (it feels like going over a bunch of parralel speed bumps very fast.) It happens even with small amounts gas and clutch usage.
Just a note.. on dry pavement my car is fine, instead of the feeling i stated above my car will simply chirp or squel away
Whats my problem?

LEARN HOW TO DRIVE BEFORE YOU BREAK YOUR CAR

exactly. You need to ease the clutch more in wet so the tires don't try to spin.
What does learning how to drive have to do with wheel hop?? if i didnt know how to drive im sure that i wouldnt be driving right now.. If you noted in my question i stated that it only happens when i give it too much gas and come off the clutch to fast which happens even with small amounts of gas. I was simply wondering what it was called. Mabye you are right cavmania i should learn how to drive before i break my car that would suck... if i break my car then i wouldnt be able to use it right?? or mabye just the broken parts, i hope that my ac wont break cuz its hot here in canada eh?
Take it slower in the rain on take off and you will be fine. The more you wheel hop, the more chance you have to break something. It puts your whole drive train through hell.
I just finished changing my slave cylinder with my GFs stepdad and really dont feel like doing any more work to the car right now (ecspecially with the high temps). Im used to driving a rear-wheel drive car and never experienced it before. It didnt feel that good on the car when it happened either.
Thanks
when i first was learning on my car i had that happen all the time in the rain and i just got better at not doing that and now i am good to go

umm, If you knew how to drive properly you would just do a burnout or perhaps even get traction and take off...But if you cant drive then you get, wheelhop

Mabye you've been working in the frozen foods section for too long, but i stated when its happens. So unless you have info that can help me then just shut up and dont answer my questions; learning how to drive properly isnt another name for wheelhop... and i know that much at least.
Seem like you don't get it. If you know how to drive, you don't spin the tire. Wheel hop is created by a slow spinning tire that start to grip.
Even if it's on water, it's not an excuse. Learn to take off or s.... up. The fact are there but you're to stupid to understand.
You can get wheel hop on dry pavement, dirt road or even on ice cream for god sake. It's all because you don't know how to drive.
Driving is not only holding the steering.

Basically what's happening is people are flying the BS flag (who has it??) at the information you're giving in your post. That hopping will NOT happen if you're driving the car correctly. You're coming off of the clutch too hard. I have a V6 swap in my car and I can drive it without wheelhopping all the time. It's a lot easier to spin the tires for me too. Maybe you know how to drive, you're just not doing so correctly.
I don't have traction for @!#$. Torque + RWD + light rear-end = hard to keep traction when wet. And, even with my lead foot, I can manage keeping my tires from spinning.

Thanks guys, looks like im taking the bus till i can learn to drive...
.. i never realized that my car would burn out with too much gas. Is there anything i could do to prevent the gas pedal from moving to far when i stomp on it??? I was thinking of adding some wood to the bottom pedal would this work??

The funniest thing is that i understand what people are saying, but i learned english about one year ago and it take me a while to type out a sentance properly so i didnt clearly state that it has never been a problem for me. i wanted to know what it is called when it happens.... Im am sure there are members on here who could get wheel hop if they wanted too (I am not the only person who can willingly do this) i will be clear as i can and instead of bashing me for what i type please try to understand that i simply wish to know the correct automotive term. i have no prblem driving in rain or snow etc, but i appreciate you all trying to tell me the answer to my question. Many people on here are very informative when it comes to cars, but knowing how a person drives a vehicle w/o knowing them is not an answer to a question.
Thank you
Actually, if you read your posts, you'll see that you've said 2 different things. After the origional post, you should have expected answers like you got.

You never asked what it (wheel hop) was called you asked...

and if you look at the bold text above you can see why everyone assumes you are driving a little like an idiot...
Knowledge about everything and yet an expert of nothing!!
Jack of all trades.
my 94 5 speed's flywheel was warped when i got it and easin off the clutch-it would vibrate the whole car...but it did it 24-7-didnt care bout rain, snow, or anything else-only time i have a problem w/my 05 is when i pull up to far and dont realize my front tires are on that slick white painted line...oops...

hahaha omg if that were actually true 90% of people on the road today wouldnt be in a car LOL
it makes me smile that sooo many people think that they "know how to drive" simply cus they can put gas in a car and turn a wheel with their hands ... these are the same people that cant work 2 pedals with one foot...you guys know what im talking about

And he isn't talking about the grannies building boost at stoplights
but seriously, ease up on the gas, if I'm pissed off the piddly little 2200 auto will spin the tires in the wet. Changing to an auto isnt going to help his lead foot syndrome. Learn where your clutch engages.
