02 front speaker

I tried to search on this but couldn't find any information on this.

On my wifes 02 the drivers side speaker is going bad. I have search and found out it's a 4 inch speaker in the doors. Well i've check all local stores and have not found any 4 inche speakers except some POS one at wally's.

Is there another size of speaker that can fit in the door ? OR where can you purchase the front speakers online at.

Thanks...

Thanks for that. didn't think about checking there.

Too bad we can't put a different size instead of the 4". Local audio store has lots of 4x6 and 5" on sale, and are really goes ones too....on well

the stock 2002 front door speaker is a 4x6 speaker...not a 4" circle. you can make a bracket and put in a 6.5 inch speaker, which is what a lot of people do. search the audio forum for a good how to on taking everything apart and making a bracket for it.

Redneck is right, its a 4"x6" and you can try different adapters for different speaker sizes if you don't like the 4"x6" in there.

But for the record, I have 4"x6" Polk Momo fronts and 6"x9" Polk Momo rears and its an Awesome setup. The fronts are crisp and clear and the rears provide good bass. The only downside to the Polk Momo's is that they have to be powered by an amp, otherwise you can actually blow them from too little power.

Blown.

i had pioneer 4x6's/6x9's. they sounded great as long as i had the subs turned off. when the subs were on they pretty muched drowned out the front speakers and i had hardly any highs. i switched to a set of 6.5 infinity reference components and put the tweeter up by the side mirrors. sounds amazing.

What kind of pioneer 4x6's do you have in the front? i just want to replace with at least stock/ maybe better. I looked at the audio section and they generally only talk about upgradeing with amps and sub, etc.

Do I want a 2/3/4 way speaker up there, how many amps(stock radio) should be okay for this. Thanks

If you just want it to work and sound ok without being anything fancy and expensive then just go pick up the 4x6s at walmart. As long as they're a name brand they can't be worse than stock.

that'll work...i don't remember what pioneer model numbers i started with, but they weren't the top of the line one's. i think the fronts were 2way and the rears (still in the car-product number in reg.) are 3 way. it sounds a lot better now that i upgraded the fronts to the components though.
