Ok well i recently got into an accident and noticed my horn was smashed up and the service light was on. I figured the service light was on because the headlight was out. No big deal. Fixed headlights, all bulbs are working(headlights, turn signals, brake lights) but the service light is still on. So i figured it was the horn that could be the only thing keeping that light on. Got a new horn, tested it, worked fine, hooked it up, and doesn't work when I press the horn on the steering wheel. As a matter of fact when I press the horn, it feels spongy(no air bags went off in the accident) I guess the only thing left to fix would be a spring behind the air bag? Would that keep the Service light on? I have the haynes manual and it says nothing about the service light. Any other suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks.
Bring it to the dealer and get the code scanned, might be something else. I don't believe the horn is a monitored circuit. I completely removed my horn and I don't have any lights.
Actually, I can almost guarentee its not that.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
Check all your fuses? It seems odd the horn wouldn't work after you replaced it. Perhaps a wire is pinched somewhere, or severed... causing the light.
Actualy the horn circuit is monitored by the comp and it WILL throw a CEL if its messed up. Heres an easy test go out and hit your horn and really lay on it. After about a minute the CEL comes on because the car "thinks" theirs a problem cause the horn has been sounding for so long. let off the button the the CEL goes off. Buy a new horn they're cheep enough and it should fix the problem.

Go hit your horn for like a minute straight. I bet the CEL pops on! It does every time on my car and when I asked the guys in service thats what I was told.

Ooops I almost forgot.
DISCLAIMER: My car is an 04 and I am not sure for other year cars so if you would like to try it all it will cost you is some noise.
Had to put that there cause I know someone will say something like "I just tried it in my

Because I know how full of love this place is.

I have an 03 and tried this, and nothing happened. Still can't get rid of that Service Light with the little wrench underneath it, and my horn still doesn't work. Does anyone know where the Horn relay is? Maybe I'll try that next.
easiest way to fix the horn is get a 10mm bolt take off the airbag from the steering wheel (of course taking proper precautions, air bag fuse, unhook battery etc) underneath the airbag will be a spring and a hole you will see make sure the spring is sitting in there. its a pretty common problem if that doesnt help then check relays and such
Another thing you said you got into an accident and your horn was smashed its probably not too unlikly the harness or wire broke somewhere if it was enough impact to brake your horn itself
yea the wire harness did break and I have a new one as well as a horn from the junkyard. It still will not work, but I will try the air bag tomorrow if I have time. Any ideas where the horn relay is? I tried listening for the clicking but there is none
if theres no clicking imma have to say its still behind the air bag
well fixed the horn, turned out it was grounding out somewhere. Service light with the little wrench under it is off. Thanks everyone for the help.
