I was wondering if I cut the springs, will it be bouncy as hell?? Dont have hundreds of dollars to spend on coilovers and i hear the ones for 60 bucks suck like hell, plus drop springs dont offer a low enough drop for me....any suggestions? I think cavaliers look wicked slammed!! And i think it would be a lot more enjoyable to drive also......it just looks so out of wack so dam high off the ground.....
yeah i would get lowering springs, but they only offer a 1.5 or 1.8 drop, thats not enough, if there are springs that offer a 2.5" drop or more, then i would get them, but i havent seen any that offer a drop that low.....
Cutting springs is stupid... my buddy cut a couple of coils out of his stockers, then cried when his car was laying on the ground after they coiled off the perches. Don't be a moron.... you could kill yourself or someone else by driving around an unsafe car.
If you're going to lower it... do it right. Konis or Teins, with adjustable coilovers is the ONLY real way to go that low and still have some ride comfort left. You'll thank me when you're old enough to know better.
Or if you want the looks, airbag it... but that's more expensive and will still bounce like hell...
DON'T go lower on stock struts. You'll only regret it later when you have to change it because you blew the struts entirely.

its like anything else if you dont have the money then you cant do it. If you want a paintjob but dont have enough what are you gonna do paint half of the car? Its the same principal. Dont half ass it it will ALWAYS cost u more in the long run

exactly. if you half ass it and cut springs, later on your gonna have to spend the cash on quality springs and struts, and probably costly repairs to the car. if you wait, and save some money, all you'll have to buy is the springs and struts. save up and do it right the first time, you'll be much happier

ive given up explaining this to people cuz as soon as 1 person says what they wanna hear (its ok to cut springs) all of a sudden everything else anyone said is wrong
Just go with ebay coilover they are like 20 bucks and @#@$%^& SLAM your car i mean i would put them on my car but if u dont have money they would work, u just have to take some @!#$ off your struts like dont use the rear bump tops and strip the strut of everything and you will get like a 4.5 to 5.0 inch drop it looks sick but u wouldnt even be thinkin about speed bumps or pot holes because you will bottom out on rocks
NO.
Do it right, or dont do it at all. Not being able to afford a decent spring/shock combo or coilover setup isnt an excuse to just do it any way you want to.

When it comes to lowering... don't cut any corners (no pun intended)... it's a safety issue... and if something goes horribly wrong, you can not only hurt/kill yourself... but others as well.
dont cut the springs man. im a firefighter as my handle states. and i just worked a horrible wreck that involved two young people who lost their lives do to hitting a set of railroad tracks on cut springs. the car bounced sevral time and lost contol of the car and put it into a tree. i kto hear now its not what you want im just tryin to help ya Matt
Darkstars need to post the pics he has of what happens when you heat or cut springs,
IF you dont have that much money then dont do it. like everyone says, do it once and do it right.
you could take the springs off.... HAHAHAHAHA
then, shortly after your struts blow, you should be ridin pretty darn low
(im being sarcastic btw)
I AM BUYING SOME WEAPON-R COILOVERS W/CAMBER KIT FROM A GUY ON HEAR, HE CUT ME A DAM GOOD DEAL......THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT....NO NEED TO INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE, IM NOT A YOUGSTER, I AM 25 YEARS OLD, I JUST DONT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT NO CAVALIER, BEEN RACING MUSTANGS FOR 6 YEARS, DONT NO ANYTHING ABOUT COMPACT CARS........
Well we wont insult your intelligence when you make smarter moves. Weapon R coilovers are just like cheap ebay coils....@!#$. Anyway also if you want our respect intelligence wise speak the english language a little better....g'luck w/ everything and if you really want to stick w/ those coils and there is no way to prove to you that you shouldn't cheap out then at least get koni yellows with them.

there garbage coils and a camber kit isnt needed on our cars. a decent good setup is gonna run you atleast 500 bucks
why does everyone want everything but dont' want to pay ANYTHING??
why don't people understand to do it right it takes money? I spent probly 1600 bucks on my suspension setup. from complete coilovers, sway bars, and bushings.
RK Sport Pro Streets Cost $1200, and please lose the caps.
if you want a nice drop, and great ride for a decent price, get some Tokico D-specs and goldline lowering springs. $530 shipped for the struts, and prolly $140 shipped for the springs. total around $700 for a great ride, quality parts, and adjustable struts. cant beat it. heres mine on that setup
*note - i had smaller tires than i should have, so with the right sized tire, there will be even less wheel gap than shown

I think with that post you are insulting your own intelligence. by the way when it comes to using Know or no the first one means you have knowledge and the second one means the opposite of yes...THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE...oh and there were a couple of double negatives...thats also a no-no
anyway back to the thread.
Later

I need photoshop...cause its time for a new sig
Are Ground control coilovers and good? I was considering those.....I want to do about a 3" drop......
