CEL on

I just replaced the header and got the magnaflo hi-fow cat on my 02 sunfire 2.2 OHV, and now about 2 weeks later i am getting a CEL, its to my belief that its an O2 sensor, however i do not have anything that can read the computer... i know on my van i used to have i could cross 2 connections on the plug under the dash and the CEL would blink the code, but what i would like to know is is it possible and or safe to do this on my sunfire?

im looking into getting a computer tuner that i can use, and i know that they do read the error codes, but i dont have the cash for one right now, im just looking to see if i can get this fixed without taking it in, and buying a sensor that i dont need is not my cup of tea, know?

and if this helps any, the car runs fine, without a hitch at all, just a damn CEL...

thankyou for any help, much apppreciated, you guys have yet to steer me wrong

The paper clip trick doesn't work on the OBD-II cars (96 and up).

If there is an Autozone by you, or most other parts stores, they scan the code for free.

Yeah the code is still stored. Its probably an EVAP code for your gas cap not being tight enough.
