Black dew?

If its black residue, then you probably have a bad coil pack housing. They are called carbon trails, and its what happens when the spark from the coil pack goes through the housing instead of the plugs (or at least some portion of the spark).

Got another coilpack question. i posted this in another forum, but need an answer fast. I was going to pollish the quad 4 cover, and had it off almost. had to go into work, and when I went to put it back on, I noticed that the white coils I guess were not locked into the rubber boots in the block. Car starts and runs fine, but is it safe, and if not, how do I reseat them? Thanks, Bob

im guessing you mean that the boots are stuck to the head instead of the IDI cover? if so yes its ok to drive that is how mine are not only are they not attatched to the idi but they are a ^%&$ to pull off of the head! gotta grab em with needle nose pliers and hope you dont rip em.. so just leave them where they are and it should be fine/

BluZR2, thanks for the info. You have it right, and they are a s.o.b. to get off the head. Car is running fine the way it is now, I guess no harm done.
