I need to replace the thermostat on my girls 98 Caviler it has the 2.4L quad4 where is the thermostat at it is not where it should be and it says it is located at the water pump does anyone have a parts diagram I can look at or tell me exactly where it is at.
It is in the thermostat housing on the back of the engine.. If you look from underneath the car, there is a black pipe coming from the housing. Drain the coolant, then take that lower black pipe off and it sits right in there. There are two little bolts that connect it to the housing. The other end connects to the lower radiator hose in the front of the engine.
Hope that helps.
