Seeing how its tax season once again, ill have around $1,400 to put into my car. I'm sure you hear this all the time but what should i do next, lower it, audio, performance. I know you'll tell me its up to personnal preference, but i want to get different ideas first. So far i have 21/2 inch exhaust, spectre performance intake, upper motor mount insert, lower motor mount, autotrans interceptor, autolite xp's and 18 inch MSR wheels. I also have a 12 inch PowerAcustik sub and a kicker 600.1 amp.One more question, if i do decide to lower it, which, in you alls opinion, are the best lowering springs. Thanks for the help.
i would say lower it, esp since you have rims. makes it look a lot nicer. as far as what to lower it with, i went with the gravana coil overs. i can't give you a review yet since i've yet to install them. right now i have sprint springs that i'm planning to take off hopefully this week. i wouldn't have had any problems with what i have, but i bought the wrong struts so they're all blown
if you want mine i'm planning to put them up in the classifieds when i take them out for $100. good luck with your decision.

well my single favorate mod on my cavi is the B&M short throw shifter, even if I planed on leaving it stock I would buy the short throw, I love it.
for bigger mods I would say suspenion first, I'd say go with the tien basics and get a hold of gravana for the front and rear stut bar and ken2.2 for a subframe brace (between the 2 sturt bars and sub fram brace its liek $150 total for all 3 and its WELL worth it) plus another $1000 or so for the Tiens, another $120ish for the sifter, and then with the left over money buy an intake and motor mounts

On an N/A setup with very few engine mods, the 2.5" exhaust would actually hurt you more than work to your benefit. You're losing too much back-pressure, unless of course this was done to prepare for boost in the future (even though you say you're not ready for it yet).
As for suspension, it all depends on what you're looking for. How much money do you want to spend, what kind of ride do you want, etc. If you decide to get lowering springs, purchase a good set of struts and shocks, too. Read the suspension FAQ for some good suspension info and ideas. I'm planning to go with the Eibach Pro-Kit (1.4" drop) and KYB AGX's. I'm looking for a mild drop with good performance; its also my daily driver and anything lower would mean my car would become a plow in the winter.
Look into Gravana Coilover System, its alot of money, you'll probably spend almost all of your tax return on it. With that said, I hear its great; its completely adjustable, handles well, and you have great customer service and support from Jim at Gravana. Tien makes good suspensions as well, look up their coilover systems; they may be a bit cheaper then Gravana's setup.
You can also upgrade your brakes to performance rotors, pads, and stainless steel brake lines. Or you could go all out with the Baer (or Wilwood) big brake kit for the front and possibly a rear disc conversion.

I have the eibach pro's, and the ride quality 4 just springs is way nice!
i'd go w/ coilovers, but i could never suggest a certain brand, cause i don't have em'.
The B&M short shifter gets my vote! good brand, and it helps 4 sure!
I'd either spread it all over the place, or concentrate on one thing!

Best suggestion I can give you is to first get your cars fuel problem fixed and then if you have any cash left start with the mods. Its silly to have a car that looks cool but needs your friends to push you downthe street in it cause it won't run right. You can't go cruiseing for girls while being pushed, It just doesn't work.

Cured, the problems was the wires for the IAT sensor, one was cut, luckly, did not run the car like that for to long.

Eibach Pro-Kit sound good. Mild drop and keeps the car functional without a concussion-inducing ride. By the way, how are the Autolite XP's? Any noticeable gains/losses?

They felt like they made a difference, before my fuel problem, they gave me better gas mileage as well. It feels alot stronger and smoother when im accelerating too.
If you were to go with springs, I'd suggest struts. There are so many reasons for you not to replace your OEM struts, one of them being they were not made to handle a different ride height other than stock.

I'd lower it, I love my suspension..my car now corners with ease and i'm still on 16's with the oem sway bar. I went for the gravana's, there the best setup i've been on so far..there alittle pricey but you get what you paid for. I think tein was in the works of makeing there electronical dampering adjust available for j-bodies..i just haven't followed up on it, for all i know it could be out now
But lowering and stiff'n would be what I'd go for..

best springs..to me by far are the eibach sportline kit i put those on my fire and they made a HUGE diff. turbotechracing.com offers real good deals on eibach stuff.
