Ok, im going to get a short throw shifter for my 5spd 2005 cav. but i dont know any local people that have shorty shifters with the pull up reverse and i was just wondering how the short throw shifter works with the reverse on my car, does it still inable you to pull up on the shift nob to ingauge, or does it change it to a different way?

It replaces the plastic ring on the bottom of the stock shifter (junk) with an aluminum one, on the new shifter.

But you don't have to use it if you don't want it. Personally, I know where Reverse is.. and the consequences of putting it into reverse while going forward... but then again... who knows. I've been driving long enough to know what does and doesn't break a car. I don't need safety features
