does anyone know about an inertia switch.... im trying to find it on my 00 cavailier. Every car is made with one, i was wondering if anyone could help me out. it is suppose to be in the owners manual, but i dont have an owners manual. if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

Shifted: they're designed to shut off the fuel pump in case of say, an accident

ford put those in after people started to catch fire in collisions in pinto's. i think just about every ford has them, you just push a button in the trunk or under the seat to reset it. that's still not as bad as the load sensing seats that will disable the ignition if you've got groceries on the passenger seat and no seatbelt around it. i forget what those were on, pita diagnosis.
yepperz all fords have em....you dont even need to be in a major accident for it to trip.....

check by the flucs capacitor near the rear of the car. should be a little button too to change the date

not all fords buddy...the focus has it in the pass side kick panel....
most in the trunk...bet there are a few exceptions

except on rangers... they are on the firewall under the dash on the passenger side
