Quick rotor question
Saturday, November 12, 2005 1:04 PM
Hey I'm in the middle of swapping rotors on my 99 sunfire and I need some help, I need the size of the spindle socket ( the big ass one in the middle ) and the torque spec on it if anyone has it? So I can pull the rotor off quick, the sooner I get this info the better, thanks guys.

nothin' holds the rotor on but the caliper. if you can get it off, tap around the rotor, it should fall off

Damn your right, the rotor was really seized onto those lug studs, haha my bad guys. Had to get a block of wood and beat on it with a hammer to get them off though.

That's normal. Just be "gentle" beating on it, you don't want to ruin the bearings in the hub.

i just changed my oem rotors to slotted/drilled. the 2 bolts holding the caliper on is the only thing thats holding the rotor on. just get a 3/8inch hex bolt and a ratchet and some elbow grease, those suckers are on there tight, the rotor should just slide right off w/no problems.

30mm 185 lb/ft should you ever need to know.

i only post this cause the parts boy at CT said it was 28mm..couldn't find a 28mm socket in the entire store.

rented the kit and it comes with 30 32 34 36 mm

14.82 @ 97 mph
