Shocks to fit 17

Looking for some good shocks that fit on 17" rims. I was looking at shocks from RKsport, and the only shocks that RKsport has will only fit 16" rims or smaller. I don't have 17" rims yet, but 17" rims on my car in the future will be a fact.
Also, I'm looking at getting these coil overs from RKsport. What's your thoughts on these coil overs? Thanks. http://www.rksport.com/product/p_02032515/view_detail

Could I use the stock shocks on the coil overs or will I just kill the shocks faster since the car is lowered? And, will the stock shocks fit on 17" rims?

Can someone please explaine the difference between shocks and struts.

Thanks.

The type of shock or strut you use has nothing to do with the diameter wheel you have now, or plan on having. I have no idea why RK has it listed for 16" or smaller wheels.

The only real difference between a shock and a strut is that a strut (in addition to slowing down spring oscillation) also locates the lower suspension component. 3rd gens use struts in front and rear (although technically speaking the rear setup is shocks also, since the axles is already located directly from the uni body, but don't worry about that).

You shouldn't put any aftermarket spring (wether coil-over or not) on stock struts/shocks. There are several reasons why. You can search in this forum if you want to know more about that.

My personal favorite for coil-overs is Ground Control, since they are high quality and use Eibach springs. H&R springs aren't bad either.

The RKs assume you have stock wheels, which come in 16" and smaller.
So they're saying it fits them all, just in a strange way.
