Easystreet or Air Ride Technologies kit..opinions?
Tuesday, September 27, 2005 9:20 PM
I am currently lowered on The Tokico D-Spec suspension kit, but I am now looking to upgrade to air ride. I am looking at either $1900 for the Easystreet kit, or $3000 for the Air Ride Technologies kit. I have the money for the ART kit, but I was wondering if I should save myself $1100 and go for the Easystreet kit. I am looking for opinions and experiences with either kit. Any info is appreciated.

After 18 months I became rather displeased with my front Easystreet struts.
One bag started popping wires out of the middle ring and the strut itself was blown causing a bad ride. But my bag problems were rare. Im the only one they said who has had the problem.

BUT!!!!!!! Easystreet/Air Lift is probably one of the best comapnies to do buisness with. They will not hesitate to hook you up if you are not happy with the products. Waranty problems are not a bad issue to deal with for them.

I have read some post of people saying they did not like the ART stuff. I also dont think it goes as low as Easystreet.

I am all that is man

i don`t know about you guys if you are having a problem with your struts but us n-body guys are
the rear struts make a absolutly disgusting loud rattling noise, now to me when you pay that kind of money for a product there should not be any noise at all
i personally never used noisy street, i have always delt with ART the strut bags in comparision with noisy street yes they get lower alot lower, ART is expensive i do agree %100 but i have never had a problem installing there products and the customer service when i called and elt with them was fantastic
there compressor system are bullet proff!!! at least i think i never had a problem with it on my car or any other i have installed air ride in
the only reason i would buy noisy street is they do get lower but why sacrfice gettin lower when you can have a better product on the car and have no worries
and that`s the bottom line cuz big daddy said so lol

can i haz bondo

^^^^thats what I was wondering about. I'm not concerned with being able to completely lay ou the car, I just want the on-the-fly adjustability of air ride, plus it doesn't hurt to be able show off every once in a while. I just talked to a few guys at the local hot-rod shop, and they recommended ART over Easystreet becasue they usede to carry Easystreet products, but stopped due to the constant problems that them and their customers were having. They now carry ART, and I think thats what I am going with.

said the man rolling 22" lol j/k

I have never dealt with an entire ART kit but i have used parts of it on customers cars, But I have also used Easystreet. I PERSONNALY would rather go with easystreet and use the $ i have left over to fix any problems I may run into... but thats just me.

Not going to start a big argument here, but I take this kind of thing more personally than I should! Lets just disect this post for a minute... You are correct.. People who pay that much should get a perfect product! that is #1. I have said it many times.. if anyone is unhappy for any reason, no mater who you purchased your kit from..CALL ME! I am sure I can get it taken care of.

Second.. You said it yourself, you have never used my product.. I have never flown a fighter jet, there for I cannot comment on if one is better than the other.

Finally, take a look at who takes the time to promote the j-body's as a true segment of the market.. I myself have meet most of the people on this forum face to face..either at the bash, or another sport compact related show. Is there another air suspension company there? Have you ever had a post reply from them? My company views this market as priotity #1. Your feedback, good or bad can only help us improve. But remember..I can only help those who contact me with a problem.

I have read this like 3 times making sure I don't sound like an A$$.. PLEASE do not think that I am being one! I am only defending the company that I work for and BLEED for!!

Dont worry Jim, we appreciate what you're doing. Also, I'm sending you an email on something that maybe you can assist me in.

Or I should say I don't know i the last thing fixed them, cause I didn't want to put them back on. But I really got sick of taking them off and putting them back on constantly to try to fix this noise problem. Honestly you should've done better RnD on this particular strut design, because even I see where metal on metal contact can be made. It was fun while it lasted.

I don't remember where I saw it. But there are 1/3-2/3 valve kits out there (or was anyway). It needs a special controller (standard flip switches will not cut it). Basically it has two valves that are sized so that valve "A" can put through 1/3 the overall volume of the line (based on size, varies with pressure) and valve "B" is 2/3s. So depending on the combination you get Hold, 1/3, 2/3, or Full throughput. Very cool setup, and very expensive iirc.

or just run a smaller dump valve

I have dealt with Jim and CHris at Air lift.
THey are probaly one of the main reasons Im going back to AirLift and the reason I will be re-bagging my Cavalier.

And if you dont like the noise and dont mind about a half inch lift then run some coilover modded 95-99 upper mounts.

Well, I've decided to pass on the air-ride idea. Instead I am purchasing a set of Gravana coil-overs.

If you have our chrome valves, just use a 3/8"-1/4" reducer bushing in your dump valve. that will slow you down quite a bit. As far as the valves posted below, they are called "digital stealth" from Slam Specialties. From what I hear, they are pretty cool. I myself use our digital system with 3/8" line instead of the 1/2". It does make it quite a bit easier to control.

BTW the strut noise thing is a hard one that R&D could not have seen. It has nothing to do with the upper mounts.. (remember, we tried that!) It is an oil stiction issue that is happening in only a few struts. The proper steps are being made!

we didnt try anything with the upper mounts, the thick part of the strut hits the bottom plate on both designs.
