Ordered Baer big brake kits/ ?s for those who have
Wednesday, September 21, 2005 5:46 PM
I ordered the Baer front/rear big brake package for my Cav. I was wondering what kind of work is involved with installing the kits, or if I should just pay a shop to do the installation. One thing I was really wondering about is the stock steering knuckle and wheel hubs. I know that Baer sends you new hubs, but will I have to have a machine shop modify the stock knuckle, or does Baer supply modified knuckles. Any info is appreciated.

basically in the front... yup.... everything...

the hub and bearing is one piece.... and usually bling blowww! in appearance

the spindle is already modded,

the brakes come already together with pads etc...

literally its a full kit.

Yeah, it comes with everything you need. The front "install" is basically just a knuckle replacement. It comes completely assembled with the caliper attached and everything. You remove the stock knuckle, take off the ABS sensor and put it on the new one, and install the new knuckle.

The rear is a bit more work, but actually easier to do.

If you've never removed ball joints or tie rod ends before, be careful not to tear the boots.

Buy a proper set of flare nut wrenches for the lines. DO NOT just use regular wrenches or you'll end up stripping nuts. You'll need both metric and SAE.

Click my sig to get to my instructions for the rear kit.
